CeCe Stiggers of Shake Yo Shakti on the Reclamation of Power, Pleasure, and Presence

Step into the studio and it hits you, the bass in your chest, the scent of burning incense, the glow of the lights set just right. It doesn’t feel like a workout. It feels like you’ve stepped through a portal. Not into a gym, but into yourself. Into something ancient. Something divine. Something you almost forgot was yours to begin with. This is Shake Yo Shakti, a movement created by a woman who isn’t here just to teach yoga, but to guide evolution. This is not the traditional yoga as you’ve seen it curated on Instagram, it’s not quite, or reserved’ssd, its freedom out loud.

A Movement Born from the Need to Be Free

The moment CeCe stopped trying to fit her body into poses that weren’t made with her in mind. The moment she realized she didn’t need to shrink or conform or seek approval in a space that wasn’t designed for her liberation. She didn’t find it elsewhere, so she built it on her own.

The name comes from Shakti, the sacred feminine energy in Hinduism, the creative force, the pulse of life, the divine power that gives everything life. And though she doesn’t practice Hinduism, she connected deeply with the concept. This wasn’t just about movement. It was about remembering, returning, and reclaiming.

“I wanted to provide a space that truly celebrated sensuality,” she says, “a space that begged for people to be uninhibited in their movement, especially for women of color like myself.”

This is yoga that moans. That sweats. That twerks. That cries. That unravels. This is yoga that lets you feel powerful, messy, sexy, unsure... and safe in all of it. Where your body isn’t judged, It’s honored.

Loud Healing, Raw Movement, and Rebellious Grace

Every class is intentionally designed to be a sensory experience. From the music bumping to the vibrations of the room. The breath cues drop you deeper into your body and out of your mind, and no one is here for perfection.

“We laugh. We moan. We sweat. We cry. We pound the mats. We move like nobody’s watching,” she says, beaming. “And the more I let go, the more they do too.”

She doesn’t stand at the front of the room, pristine and untouchable. She’s in it with you. Breathing, moving, surrendering. Her role is not to correct. Her role is to project your power, your magic, your essence. Cece shares that movement, for her, is rebellion. Therapy. Prayer. “I feel so connected to God when I’m moving my body,” she shares. “I’ve learned to stop when my body whispers, so I don’t have to wait until it screams.” She’s changed her life by listening, by moving slower when needed, and saying without guilt. She protects her peace like it’s sacred, because it is.

Creating Space for the Real Ones

The yoga world, she says, can often feel curated and exclusive. “Too polished. Too quiet. Too segregated.” She’s heard the stories from her students. She’s lived some of them herself. What she’s built in response is something entirely different. It’s a space for loud healing and messy growth. For people of color. For real bodies. For those whose emotions can’t always stay neatly tucked inside. She holds a space where sensuality and discipline dance together. Where you can roll on the floor and also hold the fiercest birds of paradise pose without skipping a beat. Where joy is the healing practice. Where movement is the prayer.

And when the class ends? The connection doesn’t. Community is everything here. From Girl’s Night Out meetups to the retreat in Hill Country, this isn’t just a class - It’s a sisterhood and a sanctuary.

“We celebrate each other’s wins. We hold space when someone’s low. And they do the same for me. It’s made me more brave. And more tender. That’s real love.”

A Portal Disguised as a Studio

There’s no sign outside. You might think you’re in the wrong place at first. That’s part of the magic. “It gives speakeasy vibes,” she laughs. “But once you walk in, it’s like the air shifts. The space becomes whatever you need it to be.” As time stretches, bodies sync, doubt melts, and she feels it too. She isn’t above the energy, she’s immersed in it.

“I’m guiding, but I’m also surrendering. That’s how I know I’m doing what I was always meant to do. God chose me.”

What’s Next? Everything.

She’s dreaming of a freestanding space, sensual, sacred, electric. A house of healing and expression. Moody lighting. Curated playlists. Art on the walls. Healing circles. Community dinners. A creative playground for the seekers and the shapeshifters. It’s been whispering to her for a while now. She’s ready to listen.

“I want it all,” she says. “More pleasure. More power. The right to move loud and live soft. The right to take up space in wellness without silencing our hips or shrinking our truth.”

This isn’t just yoga. This is reclamation. This is Shake Yo Shakti. And it’s only getting started.
