How Jasmine Lacey Takes up Space & Brings the Energy with Trap Pilates

Some classes feel like workouts. Jasmine Lacey’s class feels like an experience. From the second you walk in, the vibe is unmistakable. Low lights. Loud music. High energy. Jasmine wanted people to feel accepted immediately, especially those who don’t always see themselves reflected in traditional wellness spaces.

When she first moved to Dallas, Jasmine jumped straight into the local fitness scene, taking classes across DFW. She quickly fell in love with the intensity of solidcore, the kind of workout that challenges you every single time. It wasn’t just fun. It felt like something she could commit to long-term. Teaching became a natural next step, a way to bring that same intensity and intention into spaces that needed it.

A vibe that says “you belong here”

Jasmine’s class is built around representation. The music. The energy. The people in the room. Too often, Pilates studios don’t play our music, namely Hip Hop, and the instuctors don’t look like us. Jasmine made sure her class would feel different.

Trap Pilates isn’t a gimmick. It’s the heartbeat of the room. People dance between movements, smile through the burn, and push a little harder without realizing it. The playlist fuels the room, matching the grit and grind of the work on the reformer.

Her goal is simple. Every Trap Pilates class should feel like you’re in the club with your homegirls, just doing planks instead of shots.

Coaching belief before confidence

What truly sets Jasmine apart is how she welcomes people. It’s never performative. It’s personal.

She remembers what it feels like to walk into a studio unsure, intimidated, and wondering if you belong. As a coach, she doesn’t see first-timers as outsiders. She sees people taking a brave first step. Her job is to help them feel seen, safe, and supported so they can trust the process.

Jasmine believes you have to believe in your clients before they believe in themselves. That belief shows up in how she hypes newcomers, checks in throughout class, and connects after class no matter what kind of day she’s having.

Community that doesn’t end at the cooldown

When class ends, something special happens. People don’t rush out. They sit. They laugh. They talk. They stay.

That sense of connection started naturally, but Jasmine protects it intentionally. She makes it a personal rule to connect with every single person after class. No exceptions. When people feel valued, they want to linger. When they linger, community forms. It’s not uncommon for someone to finish class and end up on the couch talking for another hour. That’s when you know it’s more than fitness.

Jasmine’s coaching style blends precision with personality. She pushes people, but it never feels cold or transactional. It feels like your best friend guiding you through a hard class and reminding you that you’ve got this. Modifications are always available, confidence is always encouraged, and the goal is never to keep up. It’s to show up.

Teaching alongside her sister has only deepened that energy. The two of them thrive off each other creatively, constantly building and refining classes, sometimes joking that they’ve designed full workouts in the middle of the grocery store. Fitness has become a shared language, a way to push each other beyond comfort and into growth.

Ask Jasmine what makes Carrie’s Pilates special and she doesn’t hesitate. Inclusivity. The instructors and staff reflect a wide range of races, body types, and lived experiences. There’s always someone in the room who looks like someone else. In group fitness, especially Pilates, that matters. It changes how safe people feel trying something new.

For anyone nervous about taking their first Pilates class, Jasmine keeps it real. You have to start somewhere. The goal isn’t perfection or keeping up. It’s meeting your body where it is today. Every movement has options. No one is watching or judging. You move at your pace, trust the process, and leave stronger than you walked in. Showing up is the first win.
